Russian Standard Vodka has produced its first limited edition sleeve inspired by Russian folklore, and designed exclusively for travel retail.
The first special edition sleeve for the one-litre bottle of Russian Standard Original depicts the magical “Zhar Ptitsa” firebird, which is famous in Russian folklore and tradition.
The brand has selected Copenhagen Airport to host an exclusive high profile promotion of its new travel retail release, Russian Standard Vodka Original Folklore.
The month-long promotion – run by Russian Standard Vodka, distributor Rémy Cointreau GTR and duty free retailer Gebr. Heinemann – will run until the end of January. Customers will have the chance to experience a tasting bar, a themed display cabinet and the offer of a free cocktail shaker when they buy two bottles of Russian Standard Gold or Platinum.
Walter Kooijman, general manager of global travel retail at Russian Standard Vodka, said: “In Russian folklore, the firebird is depicted as a large and beautiful bird with a crest and majestic plumage like a peacock which has magical powers. The artist who designed Russian Standard Vodka Folklore has interpreted this in stunning monochrome which creates an impactful design on the shelf and adds perceived value to the gift without increasing the price of the product.”
The Russian Standard Folklore edition will also be rolled out to additional travel retail markets, including Germany, France, the UK, Lebanon, Nordics, and Malaysia, where it will be available until Summer 2014. Its launch coincides with Russian Standard’s “most ambitious” global marketing campaign featuring film-maker and performance philosopher Jason Silva.
