About 3 years ago when we were creating Manchester235 and the Casino at the Empire with London Clubs International, Adam Robert's the brains behind the development of the new model casinos asked us to help him with a personal project of his own. The project was to design an identity for a totally new board game called Drabbles that Adam had invented.
Drabbles is based on an odd game that Adam had played with his friends when he was a child and that he had played with his own kids using a drain and some marbles. For Adam it has been a long labour of love, but finally on the 24th of April his dream saw the light of Day when Drabbles was launched at the Surf Show in Bristol.
Drabbles is a totally addictive beach game that has been designed specifically for surfers and beach lovers. It is a game of skill, luck and about having fun while you wait for the perfect wave. The game is for 2 players, but is also perfect for knock-out tournaments within a group. The idea of the game is to take your opponents marbles – and like the traditional games such as draughts and backgammon it takes some skill and strategy to win and as the skills improve, the harder it becomes.
Drabbles is ideal for beach life; the board is made in a hard-wearing, waterproof body board type of material and comes with 14 handmade marbles in 4 colours that indicate the different levels of play. A rucksack style bag has been designed for the game with a separate pocket for the marbles and is perfect to use to head down to the beach.
